Cleansing Diets

What are cleansing diets?

Cleansing diets have become very popular in the last few years. Cleansing diets are also known as detoxification diets. They are considered detox diets because they are reported to remove toxins or poisons from the body that have purportedly built up due to years of eating an unhealthy diet or because of being exposed to pollution and other toxic chemicals in everyday life.

One very popular result of cleansing diets is that they help people lose weight very fast. This is most likely due to a combination of factors. One of the main things that happens during a cleansing diet is that quite often you get a release of waste from your colon. This waste may have been impacted or lodged there for some time. This release of waste will cause a loss of weight when you weigh yourself.

However, another more common factor that causes weight loss during a cleansing diet is that the person doing the cleanse is changing their diet to one that contains more fresh fruits and vegetables. When raw fruits and vegetables are the bulk of a person’s diet rapid weight loss often occurs. Fruits and vegetables are full of fiber and many fruits and vegetables are low calorie with a high water content. This helps the person doing the cleanse to feel full, eat less, and feel satisfied.

Besides fast weight loss, some other great results that have been reported after doing a cleansing diet are:

Overall health improvement — less achiness in joints and bones, better and more restful sleep at night, and more clear thinking (not foggy or clouded).

Mild depression can dissipate — for many cleansing diet has been found to restore a zest for living.

Younger looking body, skin and face — a nice side effect of many people enjoy after a cleansing diet is that their skin has a new refreshing glow. Their appearance may appear more rested rather than previously haggard and drawn.

A cleansing diet can be a great way to rejuvenate your body and have more energy. It gives your body a clean slate on which to build a more healthy way of life. Even if you’re not ready to commit to a cleansing diet, simply adding more raw fruits and vegetables to your daily diet will flood your body with pure nutrition. Your body loves to get “real food” to eat each day. So give it a whole fresh food treat often!

As always, if you’re not in good health or you have any medical problems, be sure to check with your doctor before beginning a cleansing diet.

Kettlenetics, What Is it All About?

Okay, let’s face it, almost every single week there is a new program or a new exercise machine coming out. But how do you know which ones work, and which ones are just a bunch of fluff? Well one thing you can do is go online and read a few reviews from people, before you decide to buy that new ab blaster or that new elliptical. One of the newest programs I have heard about recently is called Kettlenetics. So what is Kettlenetics and how can it benefit you? Simply put Kettlenetics integrates a little dumb bell sort of weight called a kBell. When you swing the kBell you are using almost every single muscle in your body which allows for resistance training and high speed cardio.

Sounds too easy right? Well yes and no. Most of us that have done resistance training, know that when you resist against something, you are using muscles in doing so. And with the kBell this is exactly what you are doing. Not only are you using your muscles but you also get an aerobic work out which helps to burn fat and calories, which is what we want! The main program of this work out is called Slim&Tone and it includes everything you need to lose weight and get fit. Here are a few of the products included:

4lb kBell - This is the item that uses resistance or as they call it “FlowMotion.” This bell allows you to make movements quickly, without having to lift a heavy weight.

KB Elements - This is the 20 minute DVD that comes with the program. It includes seven signature moves for total body conditioning as well as ways to protect your body against injury. This DVD also includes a three-dimensional FlowMotion work out, which will transform your entire body.

Flow Motion Basics - This 20 minute workout gives you a 360° body sculpting with unique standing in floor exercises

Cardio Balance - This 40 minute fat burner takes your kBell to the next level and teaches you how to burn fat with it

KB Target Toning - This is a five-part work out for a total body work out including, upper body, lower body, core and stability

Strength & Serenity - This DVD allows you to develop core strength, flexibility, grace and posture.

It also includes other things as well such as wrist bands, guide book, wall chart, VIP access, Web Club, Guide To Healthy Eating

I like this program mainly because it’s not just one of those “exercise and you will lose weight” deals. They actually touch base on the eating healthy and eating right topics as well. As a person that is into healthy eating I know that both exercise and eating right goes hand in hand. You can’t expect to lose weight with just eating right and you can’t expect to lose weight just with exercise. There has to be a healthy balance between the two! If you would like to check this program out please look online.

Personally I consider the Kettlenetics program a good idea for women. However, for men, not so much. Men are usually bulkier in size than women and they also have different muscles, sizes of muscles, etc. So, listed below I will include a few reviews of programs that are good for men to take a look at (some of these can also be used for women as well):

Tony Horton P90X - $119

Billy Blanks Tae Bo - $45
Tae Bo T3-Total Transformation Training is Billy Blanks’ newest, most life-changing TAE BO workout, designed for a total transformation of your body, your mind and your life. The Power Within workouts give you a one-on-one connection with Billy the mentor and motivator as he teaches you how to regain control of your body, your mind and your life.

Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat - $60
This fat burning system was designed by a bodybuilder, but it’s not just for bodybuilders. In fact, 90% of the 600+ coaching protege’s and thousands of customers are “regular people”: teachers, students, parents, business owners, musicians, accountants, financial planners and lawyers. They’re busy people with social lives, careers and families. You don’t have to live in the gym all day to get fantastic results with this system.

Whatever program you choose, I hope it works out for you, and you lose the weight you want and become much healthier in the process. Remember there is no miracle pill, or miracle program. This all takes time, determination and most of all patience! Good luck!

Snacks Overpower Our Best Intentions

Despite our best intentions to eat something healthy, we often choose sugary snacks.

Dutch researchers asked 585 participants to pick between four snacks: an apple, a banana, a candy bar and a molasses waffle.

About half of the participants indicated they would choose the apple or banana.

But when presented with the actual snacks a week later, 27 percent
of those who had said they’d pick a healthy one switched to the candy
bar or waffle. And more than 90 percent of those who had initially made
an unhealthy choice stuck with it.

The researchers figure that while we are in control of our intentions, our actual choices are often made impulsively, even unconsciously.

A substantial gap between healthy snack choice intentions and
actual behavior was demonstrated,” said study leader Pascalle Weijzen
of Wageningen University in the Netherlands. “Despite that gap, the

Healthy, Invigorating and Beautiful Skin Diets

Many women and men spend a small fortune on skin creams, energy drinks and beauty products to look good. To really look (and feel) your best, it’s what you eat that matters most.

If your body is well fed you are less likely to suffer mental or physical fatigue, you will suffer less from overall lethargy, less minor ailments and less of that general feeling of being down and “under the weather”.

Eat a sensible diet and your body will cope better with the pressures and the pollutants of our modern everyday lives. The right kind of foods will improve your performance and of course your overall well being and your appearance will benefit too.

Best possible foods?
Carbohydrates, potatoes, grains and pulses, foods rich in proteins, lean meat, fish and dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables.

These foods rich in the vitamins A,C and E are antioxidants that neutralize the affects of “free radicals” that attack our bodies causing cell and tissue damage. The breakdown of these cells and tissue structures by rouge elements in our make up are known causes of the premature aging process in some people as well as other degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, heart disease and some cancers.

Mediterranean style diets and the diets of people living in Arctic areas consuming lots of oily fish are proven to help lessen cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart problems.

Foods to reduce or avoid?
If your diet is normally supplemented by ready made meals or take-away foods, snacks, pies, cakes and biscuits you will be eating too much processed food containing preservatives, salt and sugar and not enough of the nutrient rich energy giving healthier foods. You will probably feel listless and your skin will appear less radiant, it will look dull and sallow, spots or blotches will appear and not only will you look tired, you’ll look older than you are too.

It is a myth that we need sugar to supplement our energy levels; it works only as a very short term boost unless you eat something else that is very nutritious shortly after taking a drink or snack high in sugar content. White sugar is the only food completely lacking in nutrients apart from of course all the calories it contains.

A glass of wine with your meal is fine and can even be health giving if taken in moderation but over indulgence in alcohol consumption can interfere with functions of the liver creating a build up of toxins that can be responsible for some of the “free radicals” that attack the cell and tissue structures in our bodies. They can cause havoc among blood cells, capillaries can become blocked and rupture resulting in the breaking out of those thread or spider veins.

We all long to feel and look good and one of the most beneficial ways to reach this goal is by choosing the right kind of diet. Begin thinking of food as a fuel to empower and enhance your performance, a route to feeling and looking good too, soon you’ll see and feel how important it is.

So the next time you reach for a $80 skin cream, yet say that fruit is getting too expensive, think again.

9 Fat-Burning Eating Tips
Now don’t get all excited. We don’t have any magic wand solutions that will take the place of exercise and eating right. But we do have a few foods that could help you on your journey to rid yourself of excess flab. Hungry Girl’s here with the scoop…
To put it simply, protein takes a lot of effort for the body to break down and digest. A lot more than, say, fat. So while your body is working hard to process that protein, you’re burning calories. HG tip — eat fish! Chances are you’re not getting enough of it. Not only is fish a fabulous source of lean protein, BUT many types are full of those Omega-3 fatty acids you’re always hearing about. Beans are also a wonderful source of protein. And it’s no secret how we feel about our friend the soybean. (Let’s have a cheer for veggie patties and soy-meats!)
