4 Healthy Weight Loss Tips

You are reading this because you have finally realized that you have become overweight and are leading an unhealthy lifestyle.

Now you should prefer to lose weight without using the many unhealthy options you have in the form of fad diets, weight loss supplements and pills. And no matter what your fiends have told you, I firmly believe that it is not at all hard to achieve healthy weight loss.

In this article I will give you some easy and healthy weight loss tips.

1. Use your common sense: Humans are blessed with common sense for one single reason: they need to use it every now and then. Many times people don’t use their common sense at all when making certain vital choices of their lives, and that doesn’t surprise me. We often opt for the easy way and that often winds up being the latest fad diet.

I should know, I’ve gone on crazy diets in the past but have finally started listening to my brain and not my taste buds.

Always use your common sense, whether you are eating out or cooking meals at home. Let’s face it, we all know that 3 slices of pizza have way more calories than 1. If you listen to your brain you will go for 1 slice, but if you listen to your taste buds you’ll be hitting 3 slices and triple the amount of calories.

Think about each of your activity and how it will affect your body weight. Think whether your activities are taking you nearer to your weight loss goal or further from it?

You are doing some type of a fitness workout 3-4 times a week. Correct? If not–start.

2. Find healthy alternatives to your favorite foods: One of the reasons why fad diets fail is that they don’t provide enough nutrition to your body. You should first think about proving nutrition to your body and then about dieting.

For instance, suppose that you are not overweight and you don’t need to diet; even then, should you be eating all those junk and processed foods? No at all, because they add nothing to your body’s nutrition level.

On the other hand, they harm your body all the more, or make you gain weight. You should replace unhealthy foods with their healthy substitutes.

As an example, you should always drink water instead of soda or fizzy drinks. While soda or fizzy drinks will make you fatter, water will help you lose weight by burning your calories.

How about a handful of grapes instead of a piece of cake? If you find that you really don’t want to give up all your food pleasures - then cut down your portion sizes.

Only have 1 cookie, instead of your usual 1/2 bag. Purchase some snacks in the new 100 calorie packs and save them for when you want a snack but don’t want to blow your whole diet.

If you love ice cream try some of the new slow churned types that have 1/2 the calories of regular ice cream. Or even better yet try some fat free or sugar free ice cream. Or fruit sorbet or 100% juice ice bars. They are cooling and low in calories.

3. Don’t skip your exercises: No matter what your body weight is, you should never want to skip your exercises. It is one thing to skip exercise for one day during the week; it is totally a different thing to avoid exercises altogether.

Remember that if you rely only on diet, you can never expect to lose weight fast. A combination of exercise and diet is the best ways to lose weight quickly but healthily!

Exercising will also help to shape your body and help you have lean muscle which will replace your fat. Lean muscle is smaller than fat (so your thinner) and it takes more calories upkeep, so you burn more calories every day.

Lean muscle doesn’t make you look like you have bulked up, but instead is long and lean giving you a body that looks wonderful in almost any clothing style.

4. Join weight loss support groups. From time to time, when you are following your weight loss program, you will feel depressed and frustrated and would want to give it up all.

This is very common and this is the time when you need someone to lift up your spirits. Who can support you better than your peers?

You can join weight loss forums online for free. These forums consist of two types of members: people who are struggling to lose weight just like you, and people who have successfully made it to the slim figure.

These people understand all your needs and requirements. They understand that you would like to have a bowl of chocolate soup instead of that damn old carrot. They understand that you would like to have soft drinks instead of plain water.

And remember that someone who understands you well would be able to support your weight loss goals properly!

And lastly - expect to slip up once in a while. It’s natural, we all do it. Just remember that you shouldn’t give it all up because you ate something very fattening or didn’t workout out for a week or two.

Just get back on track as soon as you can, so that your weight does not go back to where it was, or even worse - higher. The quicker you pick yourself up the less damage control you have to do.

Good Luck!

Healthy Diets For Energy and Glowing Skin

It’s great that you want to diet to get a healthier and thinner body but don’t go for fad or crash diets as they can leave you looking old and tired.

If your body is well fed you are less likely to suffer mental or physical fatigue, you will suffer less from overall lethargy, less minor ailments and less of that general feeling of being down and “under the weather”.

Eat a sensible diet and your body will cope better with the pressures and the pollutants of our modern everyday lives. The right kind of foods will improve your performance and of course your overall well being and your appearance will benefit too.

Best food choices?
Carbohydrates, potatoes, grains and pulses, foods rich in proteins, lean meat, fish and dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables.

These foods rich in the vitamins A,C and E are antioxidants that neutralize the affects of “free radicals” that attack our bodies causing cell and tissue damage. The breakdown of these cells and tissue structures by rouge elements in our make up are known causes of the premature aging process in some people as well as other degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, heart disease and some cancers.

Mediterranean style diets and the diets of people living in Arctic areas consuming lots of oily fish are proven to help lessen cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart problems. Photobucket

Foods to reduce or avoid?
If your diet is normally supplemented by ready made meals or take-away foods, snacks, pies, cakes and biscuits you will be eating too much processed food containing preservatives, salt and sugar and not enough of the nutrient rich energy giving healthier foods.

You will probably feel listless and your skin will appear less radiant, it will look dull and sallow, spots or blotches will appear and not only will you look tired, you’ll look older than you are too.

It is a myth that we need sugar to supplement our energy levels; it works only as a very short term boost unless you eat something else that is very nutritious shortly after taking a drink or snack high in sugar content. White sugar is the only food completely lacking in nutrients apart from of course all the calories it contains.

A glass of wine with your meal is fine and can even be health giving if taken in moderation but over indulgence in alcohol consumption can interfere with functions of the liver creating a build up of toxins that can be responsible for some of the “free radicals” that attack the cell and tissue structures in our bodies.
They can cause havoc among blood cells, capillaries can become blocked and rupture resulting in the breaking out of those thread or spider veins.

We all long to feel and look good and one of the most beneficial ways to reach this goal is by choosing the right kind of diet. Begin thinking of food as a fuel to empower and enhance your performance, a route to feeling and looking good too, soon you’ll see and feel how important it is.

Kettlenetics For Body Shaping

The Kettlenetics system is exercise system that I have also been doing for the last few weeks and can highly recommend it.

As the article states, the exercises are very easy to learn, they don’t feel like strength training exercises but more like stretching but it is a good workout, so do expect to have some muscle soreness for the first few workouts and to sweat - but the results are nice and they are quick.

Kettlenetics is the fun way to tone and shape your body.
Kettlenetics is a fun new way to exercise by using a low pound weight called a kBell. Kettlenetics was designed by Michelle Khai, who as a professional dancer noticed that when dancers workout they work more than one part of their body time. While the rest of us may work the abs, then the butt, then the arms. kBell
Michelle then took these movements, simplified them and added a light weight called the kBell. By using the kBell in 360 degree movements you can work several parts of your body at once, making your workout time more effective. Think of the kBell as a hand help gym!
Although, the principle of Kettlenetics is based on dancers movements, there are no involved movements to be learned and you can be up and running as soon as you turn the DVD on.
The first time that I did my Kettlenetics workout, I thought that this was too much fun to be getting a good toning workout.

The Importance Of Exercise On Metabolism

Metabolism the simple process of converting food to energy can be increased by adding exercise into your life. Yes, we all know this but have you ever really understood the process and why it works?

If you don’t care about the hows and why’s then just skip this article as you will probably become bored. However, if you want to know why there is a connection between exercise and metabolism so that you can learn how to increase your metabolism - here is all the information and I think that once you understand, you’ll be more apt to keep fitness in your life.

Here it goes

Metabolism is the two-way process of synthesizing complex living tissue from simple nonliving foods and then the breakdown of these living tissues into simpler substances.

The building-up process is called constructive metabolism or anabolism. The breaking down of living tissues to fuel and waste products is known as destructive metabolism or catabolism. In the healthy adult who has attained his maximal growth, anabolism and catabolism proceed at equal rates, although of course in opposite directions. Thus weight remains steady.

In the resting state, metabolism proceeds slowly at a basal or minimal rate (”basal metabolic rate” or BMR) since there are no demands on the body other than to remain alive. But during exercise energy requirements increase and it is obvious that metabolism must accelerate in order to provide the extra fuel or calories necessary to sustain the added work load.

The principle sources of readily available calories in large quantities are glucose and fatty acids. End products of their metabolism are carbon dioxide and water, both of which readily escape via the lungs. Except in exercise sustained for several hours, almost no protein is burned. This is fortunate. The end products of protein breakdown cannot find egress via the lungs but must be excreted by the kidneys. Since the kidneys shut down during exercise, a harmful accumulation of acid would result if protein were a significant fuel.

The Function Of Sweat
Sweating is useful chiefly as a means of losing heat. Because the human organism is only partly efficient, the metabolism of glucose and fatty acids yields work plus heat.

If the body were completely efficient, work and no heat would result. Thus exercise produces an increase in body temperature. After one to two hours of sustained activity, rectal temperatures of 101-103 degrees Fahrenheit are to be expected.

Sweat is an important defense against disastrous rises in temperature which may result in heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Believe it or not, the fit subject sweats better!

In a recent experiment untrained subjects were exercised in a hot environment daily. At the outset they perspired moderately and lost copious amounts of salt. In a few days their sweat glands became acclimatized. They perspired more to get rid of more heat and cut back on salt losses to avoid the hazards of salt depletion.

Training of the mind is as inevitable as training of the body in the fit individual. The sportsman disciplines himself to ignore fatigue and to give forth with his best effort.

Which ever exercise program that you want to begin with remember to start off slow and try avoiding working out during the heat of the day.

The Key To Losing Weight

What’s the best way to lose weight? Lets make it enjoyable

So many things in our lives are complicated. Why make losing weight one of them?
It can be easier and more enjoyable than you think. Most of the time you just have to watch what you let into your body and how you use your body.

What you put into your body: You don’t have to do heavy exercise, starve yourself, count calories or take dangerous pills. What your body really needs are the types and quantities of foods it was made to eat.

You’ll be pretty safe if you avoid processed, high sugar, high fat foods and cut down on your portion sizes. You don’t have to make a science out of it. Think moderation – too much dieting doesn’t work any better than too many calories. Play it safe and avoid extremes.

How you use your body: Moderation is just as important for exercise as it is for food. If you feel a calling to be an athlete, then by all means go for it. Physical skills are fun to use, rewarding in their own right.

But if you’re trying to burn off calories, remember that it takes a lot longer to burn calories off through exercise than it does to consume them in the first place. For weight control, you will get most of the benefits from easy to moderate activity together with eating right. Keep your exercise fun and easy-going, unless you are aiming for more than just losing weight.

Easy is really the key idea for the mental side, too. This is where you can get the most from making thins simple. Photobucket

Most of us approach things like losing weight as if they were huge, difficult, and hard to succeed at. But how easy it is to gain the weight in the first place! It takes years of sustained effort, and we don’t even notice that we’re doing it.

That’s because it is enjoyable (at the time). Why not make losing weight enjoyable too? Make it rewarding in its own right. Make it a new interest or hobby to explore Mediterranean or other cuisines. Enjoy the new skills of being able to glance at a bunch of ingredients and know which ones will be delicious yet healthy. Make a game out of noticing your body changing and your well-being improving.

Thoroughly enjoy the process, and also imagine yourself after the diet has already worked, thinking back over how you did it. Nice, huh?

So forget about all the calorie tables and portion calculations, along with the dreadful discipline and deprivation.
Make it enjoyable and give yourself something to look forward to. You will thank yourself for it.
Simple diets and exercise plans will also take less effort.

Caralluma For Weight Loss

Are you familiar with Caralluma for weight loss?

Caralluma looks like it’s on it’s way to becoming the next weight loss star, just like Hoodia was a few years ago.

What You Need to Know About Caralluma Fimbriata

Caralluma fimbriata is a succulent plant, in the cactus family, that has been used as a natural appetite suppressant in India for centuries. It is used to suppress hunger and appetite, and enhance endurance throughout India.

Caralluma fimbriata is cooked as a vegetable, used in preserves like chutneys and pickles, or it’s eaten raw.
Caralluma fimbriata is believed to block the activity of several enzymes, which then blocks the formation of fat, forcing fat reserves to be burned.

Caralluma fimbriata is also believed to have an effect on the appetite control mechanism of the brain.

Ayurvedic (traditional Indian medicine) experts have noted that there are no adverse effects when using Caralluma fimbriata, and the plant has no known toxicity. A patented, tested extract of Caralluma fimbriata has been developed and standardized by a company called Gencor.

Known as “Slimaluma,” the extract delivers the plant in a concentrated form.
One of the only products available in the U.S. that uses the Slimaluma formula is Country Life’s GenaSlim supplement, which combines the patented Slimaluma extract of Caralluma fimbriata with EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) from green tea. Together they reportedly have a synergistic effect on appetite control and weight loss.
